Hoeun serves as Director of History at IKARE. He was born and raised in Battambang, Cambodia and after surviving the war, came America as a refugee in 1981. From there, he went on to gain a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from State University of New York, a Master’s Degree in Social Work where he Minored in Psychology. He currently works in the m,ental health industry and originally joined the organization to help Khmer veterans gain recognition for the major role they played in the Vietnam war and “secret” war of Southeast Asia.
To Hoeun the vision and mission of IKARE is the best way to restore and educate not only the future generation of Khmers but the public as a whole.
